Overview
TraceFlow for Jira helps teams explore, filter and export Jira issue change history directly from the project view.
The app provides a clear audit trail for Jira issues, including workflow transitions, assignee updates, parent changes and other field updates. Users can review issue history in table or timeline view and export structured Excel reports for audit, traceability and project reporting.

Accessing the App
After installation, TraceFlow is available from the Jira project view.
- Open Jira.
- Go to a project.
- Open the project sidebar.
- Click TraceFlow.
- The app will display project issues, audit indicators and export options.
Project Audit View
The main TraceFlow screen provides a project-level overview of issue activity.
- Total issues included in the audit
- Total change events
- Total status changes
- Search and filter options
- Issue list with current status, assignee and history event count
- Access to each issue’s detailed change history
Viewing Issue History
- Open TraceFlow from a Jira project.
- Find the issue using the search or filters.
- Expand the issue row.
- Review the change history in table or timeline mode.
The history view may include status updates, assignee changes, parent issue changes, priority changes, summary or description updates and other Jira field updates.
Table View and Timeline View
Table View
Table view displays issue history in a structured format with date, author, change type, field, previous value and new value.
Timeline View
Timeline view displays issue changes in chronological order and helps users understand how an issue evolved over time.
Filters
TraceFlow provides filtering options to help users focus on the most relevant changes.

Available field filters depend on the actual fields present in the issue history.
Export Options
TraceFlow allows users to export issue audit data to Excel. Available export options may include selected issues, visible results, full project audit, issue history and status timeline.
Excel Export Structure
TraceFlow exports structured Excel reports. Depending on the selected export option, the file may include Issues Summary, History Events, Status Timeline, Metrics and Export Metadata sheets.
Permissions
TraceFlow respects Jira permissions.
Users can only view and export issues that they are allowed to access in Jira. The app does not bypass Jira project permissions, issue security schemes or user access restrictions.
Data Handling
TraceFlow reads Jira issue and changelog data to display audit information and generate exports. The app is designed to avoid unnecessary storage of customer data. Excel exports are generated based on user action and contain only data accessible to the current user.
